How Do I Prepare for an Aerial Yoga Class?
You can bring a yoga mat to class, but it is not necessary. Wear a top that covers your underarms completely, and bottoms that cover behind the knees. Avoid loose shorts or very baggy clothing. Bring a large towel or thick sweatshirt for padding until you are used to the feeling of the fabric. Remove all jewelry, belts, clothing with grommets, and anything that could potentially snag the fabric. Please do not use hand lotion or sunscreen before class. Avoid eating food or drinking acidic liquids an hour prior to class. Please observe good personal hygiene in consideration for the next person using the hammock.
What are the physical restrictions?
If you have a spinal injury or medical condition, check with your doctor before beginning a new practice. Talk to the instructor before attending class if you have any medical issues that prevent you from inverting (glaucoma, heart condition, etc.) or putting pressure on your skin. All students are required to complete and sign a liability waiver prior to class. Hammocks are weight tested and will support up to 350lbs.
